Why With Us?

As a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) [CAC/IT/NO 26094], Foundation for Youth Development (FYD) engenders to empower young adults (men and women) with life-skills that facilitate economic independence, building better lives for sustainable future. FYD recognizes the critical role of mothers in shaping the outlook of our young volunteers (young people in underdeveloped and developing nations). Therefore, as an organization, we believe that it is a moral imperative to empower women socially and economically, especially in the wake of deleterious effects of climate change that affects women and children disproportionately. FYD leverages both our local partnerships and global footprint to attract international best practices that would imbibe life-skills for economic sustainability locally.

Why with us?

about us

To see a new brand of youth become better and productive citizens of this great nation and in turn make positive contributions to their communities and their country at large.

Mission

Our proposed intervention in Small Island States of Nauru, Tonga and Tuvalu is in support of United Nations Development Program Global Environmental Facilities Small Grant Program (UNDP GEF-SGP).

According to UNDP GEF-SGP project document Small Island Developing States (SIDS)are particularly vulnerable to climate change impacts due to their small land area, susceptibility to natural disasters, geographical isolation, limited natural resources.

Community

FYD believes that an integrated approach to development is the appropriate strategy to address current needs of young people in our society.

FYD believes in the interventions that will engage with the full realities facing youth and their communities in order to enable them to be self-reliant, by creating an enabling environment for them through facilitating a sustainable process of Research, Counselling, Training and Development.

FYD believes in documenting its functions and activities for the purpose of record keeping, transparency and accountability.

FYD also believes in sharing experiences and activities of the organisation through exchange programmes and networking with identified strategic partners.
